On to the next one

Pre-game: Toews interview

1st:

About two minutes in, Hawk went to the powerplay after Edler was called for Holding. Two consecutive chances by the Hawks during the pp from Campbell and Keith. Unfortunately, both were stopped by Lu. Kane with a chance in the middle of the ice but failed to pass to Toews. Three huge saves in a row by Niemi. Buff put his ass where it should be, in Lu's face. Vancouver all up in the Hawks zone in the first, putting Niemi to work. He got the first save then dove to stop the rebound. Pretty strong start for the D. Kane thought he had a rebound, so did everyone else. Sharp screening side of Niemi wasn't much help because Ehrhoff snuck one in there. Canucks on the board first 1-0. Kane extremely close again with a breakaway and good speed, completely blowing by the Canucks D. With that opportunity he drew a hooking penalty, Hawks powerplay. Buff with a rebound shot but ended up in the corner. Crowd gathered in front of the Canucks net, Vancouver all over Toews with Buff not too happy. Ladd had a sweet little backhand shot that was blocked by Lu. Vancouver's Raymond made it 2-0 with ten seconds left after a Sopel giveaway. And that ends the first, shots 17-13 Hawks.

2nd:

Seconds into the period: A creepster twin scored, Seabrook magically put himself into the boards, Toews down. What is going on? Vancouver now up 3-0, just fantastic. Hossa called for tripping, powerplay Vancouver. Toews back on the ice, phew. Vancouver had a giveaway to Hossa but he ruined it for himself. Sloppy, desperate play by the Hawks. Not good. On the bright side, Seabrook is playing well with some good puck control. Speaking of control, Brouwer lost his control on a close opportunity. Wellwood scored and it went under-review but it was good. One of the creepster twins had the puck but Seabs basically just sat on top of him. Apparently, it can get worse. 5-0 Vancouver after Grabner scored. End of the 2nd, shots 25-25.

3rd:

The man from France is in the net. I do not remember the last time I wrote that. 5 on 3 for the Hawks, Kesler called for highsticking. Finally! Golden boy Kane put the Hawks on the board with a powerplay goal. God, I love that mullet. Another powerplay for the Hawks, Raymond called for holding. Hawks have a scramble in front of the Vancouver net that was full of chances but none went in. Ladd called for slashing, Vancouver powerplay. 2 on 1 Hawks, Sharp passed to Bolland and fail. Some scuffling going on with Buff. I would of loved to see what happened but Versus loves to take as many breaks and commercials as possible. Hossa shit talking in front of the bench but Seabs stepped in with a push. I guess i'll settle for a push instead of a fight. Couple seconds left, Sharpy tried for one last chance but was kicked away. Well, at least Huet kept his composure. Hawks lost the first one to 5-1 but it's not a one game series. To quote Jay Z, on to the next one.
