The Blackhawks won their seventh straight with a 5-2 win over the Canes. The Blackhawks blew up in the third period, but in the best way possible. Instead of shitting their pants, the Hawks scored three quick goals in the third.
The top line continued to stay hot with goals by Toews and Kane. Toews' goal came within the first 55 seconds of the game with a great takeaway by Sharp. Toews is basically a god, a wizard, and a superhero in one.
A god: "the Being in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and rule of the universe."
A superhero: "having extaordinary or superhuman powers and exceptionally skillful or successful person."
A wizard: "someone who is dazzlingly skilled in any field."
Yup, sounds like Toews.
Tonight was Kane's 300th game and he celebrated with a goal. Kane: "Is that tonight? Don't tell anyone in here. That's crazy. It's my fourth season and it seems like just a little while ago that I was coming in as an 18-year old who didn't know if I was going to make the team or not. It's exciting. It's awesome playing hockey in this League and you always want to play as many games as you can." (source) According to the Blackhawks, he's the second youngest Blackhawk to have played 300 games.
Johnson got his first goal as a Blackhawk! A little over a minute later, Bolland added another goal to the Hawks' lead. It was an all around solid game for the Hawks with everyone contributing. Campoli had two assists and Bickell got his 15th goal. Scoring wasn't their only strong point tonight. Their face off stats were also quite impressive: Bolland 50%, Toews/Johnson above 70%, and Dowell 92%. (source)
Baby faced Skinner, who scored the Canes second goal, was hit hard by Birthday Boy Dowell (watch here). Brouwer continued the physical play with a good fight vs. Allen.
Stars of the game:
The Blackhawks will get on a plane and head to Toronto for a Saturday night game. And hopefully extend their winning streak to eight. As Bolland says, "Keep coming, keeping going, let's go"

Oh, and one more thing. The Blackhawks website's headline: "Seventh Heaven." Cue the theme song:
When I see their toothless smiles,
smilin' back at me...
I know there's no greater feelin' than the Blackhawks winning
Where can you go
When the world don't treat you right?
The answer is the United Center
That's the one place that you' ll find,
What can I say? Who wasn't a big fan of 7th heaven back in the day? And who isn't a big fan of the Blackhawks' seven game winning streak?
