Starters: Toews, Hossa, Kopecky, and Seabrook/Keith
Scratches: Scott and Kruger
Handsome player who came back tonight: Sharp
Surprise...17 seconds into the game, the Blues took the lead 1-0. The Blackhawks got their first power play opportunity off an elbow on Kane, then it quickly turned to a 5 0n 3. The Blues made it even easier for the Hawks when a Blues' player went stick-less. They were basically being handed a goal. How could they not score? Well, the Blues killed it and the boos of the United Center rang through the radio. Cue the line juggling and the period ending penalty (hooking, Frolik). John Wiedeman pretty much summed up the Hawks play when he described their period as "self destructive."
With time left on their power play and about a minute into the second, the Blues made it 2-0. Hossa scored and it's exactly what the Blackhawks needed (fans too). But, yes there's a but, the goal went under review for kicking.
GOOD GOAL. HUGE GOAL. (more on the review/goal here) As always thank God, thank Hossa. Leave it to Hossa's other half, Kopecky, to tie the game 2-2. Reaction to the goal:
Roommate: Ahhh! Me: Ahhh!
Toews got feisty with Backes again. No, he did not throw up. I bet his red mark glows when he's mad. Leddy stepped up and gave the Blackhawks the lead 3-2. The first period was like... Ahhh (throws something). The second period was like... AHHH! (hugs something). I didn't want to know what the third period had in store.
The third period: 3-3.
One point down and overtime to go...
JONATHAN "CAPTAIN" TOEWS WON IT FOR THE BLACKHAWKS IN OVERTIME. TWO POINTS FOR THE HAWKS. I don't always use caps lock, but when I do it's for a TOEWS' GAME WINNER.
Stars of the game:
1. Jonathan Toews
2. Nick Leddy
3. I don't care.
Toews' interview with Sarah Kustok: "@Blinkfink182 I wish Toews would've just grabbed the mic and said "SHUT UP BITCH. BRING IT DETROIT."
Wow. Need about ten hours of sleep after this one.
