Well, that was ugly. But it was a win.

Kane scored his 26th goal of the season in the first. He got one on a 2 on 1 with Toews, which was started by Campoli. Kane is one point away from his 300th point and one point away from a 300 "This Is Sparta!" photoshop. The Blackhawks went on their first power play and...SEABROOOOOOK. He scored his golden goal (7). It seemed like the Blackhawks were following the seven trend by only playing the first seven minutes of the period. Wow, how many times did I say the word first for the first period in the first paragraph?

After seven minutes in Blackhawks' heaven, the Blue Jackets got their first goal. Any momentum the Hawks had gained from the two goals was gone. The Blue Jackets were just outplaying the Blackhawks. The Hawks can thank Crawford for covering up some terrible play. To wrap up the period, Keith was called for hooking. It was the first of many penalties for the Hawks.

To the start the second, Kruger was elbowed in the head for a Hawks' power play. Once the power play was over the second period went a lot like this:

Kane for high sticking. Toews for roughing. Frolik for interference. Hossa for boarding. Hammer for delaying game. Kopecky for highsticking.

The in-between included a Toews' fight, several Crawford saves, a huge four minute penalty kill, and a 5-on-3 Blue Jackets' power play goal. According to WGN radio, the main word for the second was focus. And the lack of it. I have word for the second too. Shit. And there was plenty of it.

In the third period, there was less penalties and more Bickell. He tied the game 3-3 for the Hawks. The Hawks created chances in overtime, but they couldn't avoid a shootout. The hero of the shootout? Toews? No. Kane? No. Stalberg? The question mark soon changed to a exclamation point and the lower case letters soon changed to upper case letters.

STALBERG! His game winning shootout goal led the Blackhawks to VIKTORY and two big points. Also, a huge solid outing from Crawford.

Who would of thought the Blackhawks would barely make it out of tonight's game against the Blue Jackets? It shouldn't have been that difficult. Next up: the Blackhawks will bring the thunder against the Lightning at the United Center!
